Breast Surgery

Breast surgery is a sub-speciality where the surgeon has expertise in treating all diseases of the breast, especially in the more up to date surgical techniques in breast cancer treatment. We understand that a woman’s breasts can be an important part of how she feels emotionally and sexually about herself. In our hospital, oncoplastic breast surgery that combines the latest plastic surgery techniques with removal of the cancerous lump will be offered when a large lumpectomy is required that will leave the breast distorted. The remaining tissue is sculpted to realign the nipple and areola with the aim to restore a natural appearance to the breast shape. The opposing breast will also be modified to create symmetry. This is a good option for patients who are candidates for breast conservation therapy or lumpectomy, and are also candidates for breast reduction or mastopexy (breast lift). We also offer immediate and delayed breast reconstruction if mastectomy is needed.
